List of European stock exchanges

This is a list of European stock exchanges.
The London Stock Exchange is the only global stock exchange in Europe, 〔World City (2013) ''World City, Doreen Massey'' http://www.polity.co.uk/book.asp?ref=9780745640594|date=2013|publisher=John Wiley & Sons|〕 it is located in the City of London in the United Kingdom. , the Exchange had a market capitalization of US$6.06 trillion (short scale), making it the third-largest stock exchange in the world by this measurement (the largest in Europe, ahead of Euronext). The Exchange was founded in 1801 and its current premises are situated in Paternoster Square close to St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London. The Exchange is part of the London Stock Exchange Group.
Also, there are two major pan-European stock exchanges:
*Euronext, which is headquartered in Amsterdam and was formed from stock exchanges in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Portugal and is the second-largest stock market in Europe.
*OMX, which is composed of Scandinavian and Baltic stock exchanges:
*
*Nordic Market ((link )), ''composed of bourses in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland with activity in Norway and the Faroe Islands;''
*
*Baltic Market ((link )), ''composed of bourses in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania;''
*
*First North ((link )), ''an alternative exchange based in Stockholm, Sweden.''
Subsequent to global and pan-European stock exchanges there exists regional stock exchange companies, such as the Deutsche Börse Group of Germany, regional stock market investment support is common, as in the case of the Vienna Stock Exchange's sponsorship of the Budapest Stock Exchange in Hungary.
